Certification Renewal Procedure for QPMP/ IPMA Level D
  • Project Management Associates(PMA) , the vibrant, not for profit, national body of project managers in India and a member of International Project Management Association (IPMA), Switzlerland, provides visionary directions to project management profession and facilitates the pooling of national experiences to form a globally depositary of knowledge. Professionals associated with PMA will be able to assess the latest concepts and methodologies related to PM through the literature of IPMA and by participating in IPMA’s programmes.
  • Individuals who share the objectives of society and are willing to work for its furtherance are welcome to be associated with PMA and help our nation to build up a strong project management base in India. PMA India administers IPMA’s globally recognized 4 level Certification (4 LC) scheme and awards competency certificates to successful candidates. It provides virtual network with PM professionals thru e-groups on PMA Website and free library facilities at their Head Office in NOIDA.
  • PMA helps project professionals to develop their competence levels by providing articles /Newsletters /Journals and Seminars/Training programmes at various levels.
  • PMA Certification Renewal Procedure ( CRP ) requires continuing educational and professional development of Certified individuals with a view to enhance their professional development and PM skills by attending various PM programs at National as well as International Level and keep up the reputation of Globally recognized IPMA Certification.
  • IPMA’s D Level Re-Certification requires min. of 100 Professional Development Points (PDPs)during each Certification Renewal Cycle( CRC) which is 5 years.
Professional Development Points ( PDP)
  • The certificants professional activities and learning in P.M. Field are measured by PDPs with the help of well defined methodology and to quantify the various activities to obtain a weighted average quantification , so as to ensure continuing development of PM professionals during the CRC.

Reporting PDP Activities
  • There is no minimum requirement for the number of PDPs earned in specific category. Certificants may accomplish their PDPs through any combination of various categories as mentioned above. PDP activities completed prior to obtaining IPMA certification will not be accepted to-words renewal requirements. Certificants can not claim participation in same course or activity more than once. Certificants are responsible for reporting qualifying activities to PMA Office as they occur.
  • Certificants are required to report 100 PDPs and complete the renewal process prior to end of their CRC to avoid suspension of their certification.
  • Certificants who do not earn 100 PDPs with in validity of the certificate, shall be suspended. How-ever, a grace period of 6 months will be allowed and their certification will be renewed once they complete 100 PDPs at the earliest possible ,max. with in one year.
  • Candidates will be required to submit documentary proof against each claim of PDPs and it should be maintained with candidates for necessary verification, if desired.
Renewal Application /Fee
  • Certificants desirous of renewal must submit Application for re-certification on prescribed format along-with details of PDPs earned with documentary proof to PMA office with designated fee of Rs.4,000/- for this purpose, before the expiry of certificate. After processing the application, PMA will send Updated certificate with expiry date with in 60 days after receiving such request with application fee.
  • Certificants who report their PDPs and get their certificate renewed prior to expiry date are considered to be in good preferential status.
  • Certificants who do not meet the overdue requirements with in one year will loose their credentials and will be required to reapply and retake the certification examination to regain the credentials.
Certification Renewal Cycle
  • The certificants’ active certification cycle starts on the date they pass the examination and ends after 5 years as per the date mentioned in the original certificate and will be renewed for a further period of 5 years from the date of expiry.
  • Candidates are required to check up the expiry date of their Certificate and apply at least three months before expiry to avoid embarrassment to either side for delay in re-certification.
Issue of Duplicate Certificate due to Loss
  • Request for issue of duplicate certificate must come from the HR Deptt along with a fee of Rs. 500/- payable to PMA to cover the administrative costs. Duplicate Certificate will be issued within 15 days of receiving the request along with the applicable fee, as mentioned above.
